      MIMIC Simulator Suite offers a unique and an inexpensive way to
      create a real world lab environment. It provides an interactive
      hands-on lab for quality assurance, development, marketing,
      sales, evaluation, deployment and training of enterprise
      management applications. It creates a customizable virtual
      environment populated with devices like routers, hubs, switches,
      probes, cable modems and workstations.

      The MIMIC Simulator Suite includes:

      MIMIC SNMP Agent Simulator

      MIMIC SNMP Agent Simulator creates a network of 10,000
      SNMP-manageable devices on one Intel-based PC or Sun Sparc. With
      support for any SNMP-based device you can run a variety of
      device configurations with your management application.

      MIMIC Cable Modem Simulator

      The MIMIC Cable Modem Simulator, the industry's first integrated
      simulation tool supporting DOCSIS, allows cable modem developers
      and cable companies to perform real world, integrated cable and
      internetworking device simulations.

      MIMIC IOS Simulator

      MIMIC IOS Simulator fully supports Cisco IOS software and
      SNMPv1, v2, v2c, v3. Up to 10,000 devices can be simulated in a
      single workstation, and an unlimited number of devices can be
      simulated by distributing it over multiple workstations. An
      extensible environment allows new MIBs and devices to be added
      to the simulation.

      Unzip, unrar and install as root

      During installation, when asked if you have the license
      information answer yes but leave the license key entries blank

      After installation, copy all protocol module files (*.so) from
      the "bin/dynamic/optional" folder inside the folder where the
      MIMIC files were installed to the "bin/dynamic" folder

      Copy the included license key files (*.lic) to the "config"
      folder inside the folder where the MIMIC files were installed to
      unlock the full MIMIC Simulator Suite, including the SNMP Agent,
      Cable Modem and IOS Simulators
