     :#:  The History of the Railroad has been explained and photographed   :#:
     :#:  out of respect and interest by numerous individuals since its     :#:
     :#:  inception. Surrounded by scandal and the suggestion of a          :#:
     :#:  Masonesque influence, the Railroad has fallen out of the lime-    :#:
     :#:  light and found comfort in obscurity. Gone are the days of        :#:
     :#:  wandering into a trainyard at will and simply exploring the       :#:
     :#:  massive giants. Gone too is the Railworker that not only loves    :#:
     :#:  his job, but loves his company as well. In 1988 the sale of the   :#:
     :#:  Southern Pacific Railroad to Rio Grande Industries was approved.  :#:
     :#:  The name of the great Southern Pacific Railroad was preserved due :#:
     :#:  to its popularity until 1996 when Railroad giant Union Pacific    :#:
     :#:  took over for failing Rio Grande Industries and thus began the    :#:
     :#:  decay of the great Southern Pacific. The conglomerate effect took :#:
     :#:  control and the employee who once smiled and waved to onlookers   :#:
     :#:  was replaced by drones who saw the Railroad as nothing more than  :#:
     :#:  a union occupation. Those who stayed on with the Union Pacific    :#:
     :#:  have bitter resentments for the way it used to be.                :#:
     :#:  A once honorable career has been vanquished by the rules resulting:#:
     :#:  from the liberal world. Every now and then, when an engine passes,:#:
     :#:  a dirty pale hand will emerge from the window, its fingers        :#:
     :#:  outstretched in a wave, bringing back the past, the love that the :#:
     :#:  railroad was built on.                                            :#:
