WORKING:

      Observe the previous attempt(s) at a crack:

      06-08-2006    12,588k   3 Babel.Deluxe.v1.0.German-DELiGHT

      06-15-2006    12,676k   3 Zylom.Babel.DELUXE.datecode.20060615.German-DVT

      First, some notes.  Both of those releases contain the exact same 
      (byte-for-byte) SETUP file.  DVT was NOT datecode 06-15 by any means.  
      Secondly, if DVT had been a new version, it still would have been a 7-day 
      old Minor Update dupe.


      a) ** The DELIGHT release
      -------------------------
      Unfortunately, their crack will crash for everyone on every Operating 
      System.  No matter how you launch their EXE file, it will crash.

      It causes an "invalid page fault" at a specific location on all Operating 
      Systems.  The original, protected EXE runs just fine of course!

      Example Win 98/ME crash:
      BABEL caused an invalid page fault in 
      module  at 0000:77e26417.

      And oddly on a Win XP test box, it just instantly quits when you try to 
      launch the game.  No errors and no process shown in the Task Manager.  
      Well whatever...  It's broken anyway.


      b) ** The DVT release
      -------------------------
      Unfortunately, their crack will crash for everyone on every Operating 
      System.  Just like the DELIGHT release.  Proof?

      Install the game.  Copy the DVT crack to your installed directory, double 
      click either of the game's shortcuts (ie: Desktop or Start->Programs->
      Zylom...->Babel...).  It will get a Page Fault crash.

      *Secondly, even if that problem had been solved, it still would have had 
      a crash at launch under Windows 98, 98SE, 2000, & ME.

      Of course, the game fully supports those Operating Systems, and the Trial 
      Protected executable launches perfectly on those OS.  DVT has just made 
      a bad crack, which could only run on 1 fo the 5 supported systems.

      Observe the error on those 4 OS listed above:

      The BABEL.EXE file is 
      linked to missing export KERNEL32.DLL:RestoreLastError.

      That "RestoreLastError" import does not exist on those 4 OS's.  Further, 
      is not even present in the original game EXE.

      * We are on a HOLY CRUSADE to cleanse the scene of broken cracks!
